Ciao from Italy!
This year's winter workshop was different from all the others done until now. Instead of doing a normally structured Ws, we decided to put ourselves on the frontline and do FR. At this workshop there were 17 total participants, 12 harpies, 4 first generation staff, and two STF members, Rimi Maldonado and Ronia de Jesus Barazza. The workshop was held in the San Marino area, we had our home base at the house of the Gasperoni family. We did fundraising in cities around San Marino, such as Rimini, Riccione, Sant'Arcangelo, and Cesena. We went FR in couples chosen in the morning; we sold beautiful pictures of flowers or of scenery.
After arriving on the 26th, the workshop was kicked off the morning of the 27th, after an introduction to FR and internal guidance from Marco Rivetti and the STF members in the morning; we set off in the afternoon at Sant'Arcangelo.
The 27th and 28th were both full days of FR, in Rimini and Riccione. Our schedule was like this:
We woke up for HDH and the bowing condition at 6, then after breakfast we set off to go FR at 9, after the morning round we would meet for lunch and then set off for the afternoon round until 6. We would then return to home base, reflect and tell about our day, then eat dinner, and in the evening we would do various activities, such as one evening we listened to the testimonies of the Gasperoni couple and another evening we had a discussion on topics that the HARPies were interested in.
The last day of the workshop, the 30th, we went FR only in the morning at Cesena. Then in the afternoon came back to home base and after final reflections and discussion we went to visit historical San Marino. It was a good opportunity to relax and have some fun after the intense 4 days doing FR. In the evening we closed the workshop by thanking the Staff, the STF members that could help us, and the Gasperoni's for welcoming us to their house for the Ws. Then we all watched the Lord of the Rings.
This was my first experience of FR and I have to say that it was a really good experience for me. Meeting so many different people with so many different backgrounds made me think more about how each one of them is a child of God and he loves them. This workshop really helped me to open my mind a bit more towards God and towards other people. I really hope to have more experiences like this soon!
God Bless! - Tokuwa Kanno
