The International Association of Academics for Peace IAAP
Since the start of the Unification Movement, Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon sacrificed their whole lives on breaking down the walls of the cultural conflicts between East and West, by overcoming the crises of modern civilization and expanding peace ideals around the world through various peace initiatives, including the International Conference on the Unity of the Sciences (ICUS), Professors World Peace Academy (PWPA), and the Unity of the Societies of the Americas (CAUSA). In February 2020, the inauguration of the International Association of Academics for Peace (IAAP) will be convened in Seoul, South Korea, gathered by elites, scholars and academicians from around the world, to explore and form a network in achieving the world peace for the happiness of the humanity and pass on the academic legacy for the future generations.
The International Peace Symposium At the International Peace Symposium, academicians from around the world will gather and form a network to bequeath the ideals of peace for the future generations and to academically highlight the noble lives and legacy of the founders, Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, who have sacrificed their lives to achieve a peaceful world, where humanity can live in happiness. In addition, the inauguration of the International Association of Academics for Peace Symposium will be held at the Peace Symposium.
This year’s International Peace Symposium will be held for two days, where 500 scholars and academicians from around the world will be discussing on a path to achieving world peace, under the theme of “Achieving the World Centered on Interdependence, Mutual Prosperity, and Universal Values.” Hosted by the Hyojeong Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Peace Symposium will be divided into five sub-groups of the International Conference on the Unity of the Sciences (ICUS), Professors World Peace Academy (PWPA), the Unity of the Societies of the Americas (CAUSA), and Sun Moon University, each session highlighting its unique agendas, including the insights and vision on the unity of the sciences, a vision for world peace, God as the True Parents of humankind and God-centered Science Conference, and the university’s role in achieving a peaceful global community for the next 100 years of the future.
