The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) hosts the World Summit with the single goal of realizing the ideal of a peaceful world in the global village. In order to realize the world of the peace ideal, it is necessary to have a place of discussion where leaders and experts from all fields including politics, finance, religion, society, culture and arts can work together to resolve the problems of international conflicts and hostilities.

UPF, founded as a global organization, hosts the World Summit so that leaders from all walks of life and all parts of the world can come together and pool their wisdom for the future of humanity and make the resolution to bring about perpetual peace in the world, by connecting such organizations as the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP), Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD), Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP) and Youths Federation for World Peace (YFWP).

The World Summit is a global assembly, participated by large numbers of political leaders including current and former heads of state, prime ministers, chairmen of congress and ministers from across the world, as well as major religious leaders including those of Christianity (Catholicism, Protestantism, Greek Orthodox Church, etc.), Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Confucianism, Judaism, Sikhism and Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), who come together to pool their insight and inspiration so that nations, continents and the world can be reborn.
